The overarching vision of the National Trends and Services facet is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service.  Our mission is to effectively empower the communities in which we work. Our goals include increasing the number of sustainable and measurable programs; increasing collaborative partnerships; and extending our existing initiatives to include communities identified as having the greatest need.

Currently, National Trends and Services encompasses programs that are committed to the  overall vision and mission of the facet. These programs serve as a catalyst for change promoting individual and  community empowerment.

National Trends and Services continues its focus on the sex trafficking of young girls and women.  Initially, the facet laid the foundation through education and awareness by grounding the chapter in understanding the issues surrounding sexual exploitation and especially its prevalence in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

The chapter continues to partner with Wellspring Living which provides short-term residential care (11 to 13 month program) that offers trauma therapy, counseling, life-skills training, education and a fresh start for girls ages 12 to 17 who have been sexually abused or trafficked.  The residential program is key to the healing and successful futures of the survivors that the organization serves.

The chapter supports Wellspring Living through graduation sponsorship for a young woman completing the program.  This culminating activity celebrating her accomplishment is an opportunity for the staff, fellow residents, family and friends to come together to help her mark this very special occasion. As each participant completes the program, this is a chance for her to be celebrated – one of the first times many of these girls have been honored in this manner.

In addition, the chapter has contributed to the onsite library by sponsoring a book drive resulting in a donation of 60+ middle school and high school level books.
